German Expedition knife
Got one of these about 10 years ago, and wrapped handle in chute cord to make easier on hands. Also got a smaller version with thinner blade which I use more often and carry when hiking, that is much more practical, useful and lighter, unfortunately no longer made. Good steel, bullet proof design. Keep this big one under car seat, great for splitting small wood for campfire, I often whack it with a small log, or use it as a wedge, super rugged, tip thick and unbroken with lots of abuse. Both have good leather sheathes. Steal sharpens well, no rust. I use the neat new "Boat knife" on the water for fear of loosing these.
