The design is crafted by knife maker Christoph Daim, a member of the German Knifemakers Guild (DMG), who seeks the unique, artistic, and intriguing in knives. Together with engraver Stefanie Ottilie, he created the first prototype of the 2024 annual knife, possessing a particularly artistic touch. The execution is lavish, featuring handcrafted engravings and genuine gold inlays (chasing) on the handle and blade. These chasings are incorporated through an elaborate process known since the Bronze Age. Explore the 2024 annual knife, hand-engraved, by clicking here.
We have also released an alternative version with laser engravings, limited to 255 pieces worldwide. The laser-engraved annual knife is made of stainless 1.4116 steel and comes with a handcrafted leather sheath and a high-quality, decorative display stand included.
