A practical stabbing knife has always been an integral part of hunting equipment for wild boar. The Pig Sticker models 13 and 15 from our Puma XP series are, with their long satin beveled blade are not only functional, but also an eyecatcher. The handle with integral finger guard is symmetrically shaped and carries beautiful scales made of blaze orange G10, which provided a grippy textured patteren. The knife has a full tang construction of one piece 440 steel, hardened to 55-57 HRC and is therefore very strong. As a specific feature, the middle-point blade has a ground phase in the local area and a double-sided groove on the flanks.

The Puma XP brand was established to produce Knives and Tools that may be too large or have "specific use" that would not be enhanced by using German Steel. An example would be the Puma XP Machetes. These are large tools with a "specific use" like hacking at heavy brush or foliage. To use a high quality 1.4116 cutlery steel would probably not be very prudent, nor a very attractive price point. We use a high quality 440 stainless steel on the Puma XP Knives and Tools. These tools feature the ergonomically designed co-molded rubberized handles with fingered grips that help in stability and comfort while working on the job.
