The “ehrensaufeder frevert” is a decorative wall ornament in the hunting room and an indispensable, traditional polearm at the same time – from PUMA Solingen.
The practical PUMA "Frevert boar spear" follows the traditional custom of carrying a bladed polearm while hunting. This successful model was developed in the mid-20th century by OFM Walter Frevert and is still highly valued today for its following features: The forged tip, made of hardened tool steel, is sharpened and polished by hand in several stages. The octagonal ash wood shaft is sanded to a fine finish by hand in increasingly finer steps and then impregnated with a natural oil mixture. The wrapping, made of very tough saddle leather, is treated with a special leather balm and fastened with hand-forged, blued nails. The accompanying saddle leather sheath for the tip is of very high quality and features a genuine boar hide applied to one side. Thus, this professional PUMA boar spear represents not only tradition but also true craftsmanship.
